Contrary to what you might think, Farrs is a restaurant. Yes really. The ‘dancing’ thing is just to confuse people. The just-launched venue on Dalston Lane is a new venture from the team behind Clapton boozer The Clapton Hart, Manager Charlie Beety and Head Chef Brez Barwise and is all about pub food with seasonal produce, sourced locally and ethically wherever possible.
The menu serves up artisan bar bites accompanied by chutneys and sauces, a selection of potted and jarred snacking dishes, school board sharing platters, hearty mains and indulgent desserts. Small plates feature Deep-Fried ‘Popcorn’ Cockles with Chilli Vinegar and Dalston Cola Battered Halloumi with BBQ Sauce alongside canteen-style platter Manzo-Fumato Smoked Beef, Hot Smoked Pork Belly, Wild Fennel and Garlic Salami.
Dishes like Beef, Ale and Ox Cheek Short Crust Pie, Mash, Liquor or Gravy and Welsh Rarebit Tart with Y-Fenni Cheddar and Caramelised Onions are matched to East London real ales so you’re never far away from that trad pub vibe while dessert specialities include Chocolate and Blood Orange Bread and Butter Pudding.
Look out for traditional Sunday roasts which are coming soon. All in all, guaranteed to put a spring in your step. And who knows you might even do a little jig of joy…
