Vinoteca Launches Fifth Restaurant

By Emily Gray | 4th March 2015

After 10 years of working together and having opened four Vinoteca venues , Brett Woonton and Charlie Young are set to open their largest venue yet in One Pancras Square, Kings Cross.

It’s the first Vinoteca to have its own dedicated wine shop and tasting space with over 250 wines from around the world available to test and buy and drink in the restaurant. Two will also be available fresh on tap.

The restaurant and bar which is opened seven days a week will be serving up breakfast, lunch, afternoon drinks and dinner and arguably our favourite meal of the day, breakfast, has been even better with the introduction of breakfast wine.  Yes you did read that right, wine served with breakfast, low and non-alcohol wine will be found on the menu alongside the classic Champagne and Moscato.  To go with your wine there will be granola with prunes as well as coddled eggs and manx kippers. Or for those on the go you can pick up a cake with your espresso.

Talking of food, the kitchen will be in the hands of Head Chef Kieren Steinborn (Alain Ducasse, Michelin-starred Thackeray’s, head chef at The Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe) who will be creating Mediterranean rustic dishes using British ingredients so expect to find the likes of hot smoked Scottish salmon and quinoa tabbouleh, Cotswold chicken, panzanella and English lettuce and to finish almond tart and Muscat grapes.

The focus of the 90 cover restaurant will be a striking 20ft horseshoe zinc bar which sits at the centre of the dining room, whilst 10ft floor-to-ceiling windows will flood the room with natural light, in the summer you can also sit out on the terrace – the perfect setting for morning drinking.

Vinoteca  Opens late March  One Pancras Square, N1C 4AG
