Every day we tell you about a new venue opening, somewhere to add to your ever increasing list of places to try, if you’re going to get through them all you’re going to have to start scheduling in extra meals but for today’s opening you’re going to have to dedicate a whole weekend maybe two to eating. That’s because we’re not telling you about one new opening, nope, today we have sixteen…

Like the wonders of a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner, Flat Iron Square is sixteen venues and restaurants in one space, albeit a 40,000sq ft. space.  Occupying six railway arches and the surrounding areas, Flat Iron Square will make up the first part of the new Low Line in London’s Bankside and will bring together street food, music, art, culture and restaurants.

On the music front you’ll have OMEARA, founded by Ben Lovett, member of Mumford & Sons and co-founder of Communion, the new live music venue will host everything from indie club nights and talks to burlesque evenings and magic.

Ben won’t be the only member of Mumford & Sons to get involved; Marcus Mumford will be joined by Gill Meller who previously headed up the kitchen at River Cottage and Sam Ursual, a farmer and conservationist to launch South West Social Club, which will see them serve up dishes from their Airstream Sylvia.

Chef and Baker Matthew Dryden will be bringing Burnt Lemon Bakery to space. As well as cakes and pies, it’ll focus on sourdough bread made from organic flours milled in the UK. Talking about carbs, Patricia Trijbits will be opening her first permanent site for Where the Pancakes Are and Baz Henriques and Fred Hicks aka Baz + Fred will be serving up pizzas from their revolutionary Chadwick oven. If you’re after something lighter then head to Savage Salads, created by chef David Del Gatto and former restaurant manager Kristina Gustafsson who are on a mission to end dull salads.

European food offerings come from EDū a Spanish food concept founded by Eduardo Wansbrough and Daniel Pino – it’s a new take on classic Spanish dishes. Manti by Mike + Oli will be your one stop shop for Turkish dumplings filled with British ingredients, we’re talking about the likes of roast beetroot and Brockley made Persian feta.Whilst, Max Graham and Tiago Santos of Porto fame, will be serving up Portuguese tapas over in Bar Douro.

For dishes from further afield you’ll find Mexican street food including incredible burritos at Cantina Carnitas; contemporary twists on Middle Eastern street food at Laffa like a harissa and mint steak bavette and Lupin will be where to go for all-day Californian brunches. Ekachai will be bringing the taste of the South East Asia to Flat Iron Square with Thai, Malay and Cantonese dishes straight from the wok. Tatami Ramen will be serving up their award winning sushi and ramen and you can head to The Bar if you’re after drinks.

Finally launching this weekend will be Flea, a weekly Sunday market where you can pick up the likes of vinyl, books, art, cameras and bikes and yet more food.

Right that’s it, that’s all of them. Got them noted? Feeling hungry? We certainly are but first we need a stiff drink, that was quite the list.
