Joe’s Café looks like the type of place one might stumble across during a trip to pick up Miranda Priestly’s steak in Runway – smooth, sleek and unapologetically cool.
Now, the much-loved city staple is relaunching under the direction of new head chef Anupam Som, after first opening in 1984. Housed within fashion store JOSEPH on Sloane Square, the fashion empire began in 1972 by the late Jospeh Ettedgui, and we’re grateful to him for feeding not only our appetites, but our fashion cravings too.
The new menu includes starters of marinated heritage beetroot, and smoked salmon with avocado, olive oil and crostini, whilst filtering in the signature dishes that loyal customers have enjoyed for the past 35 years.
The whole atmosphere is one of creativity, with the elegance of the clothing designs replicated in the new dishes. And, like fashion is universal, something for one and all, so too will Joe’s Café embrace the beauty of unity and cultures, with food that takes inspiration from cuisines all around the world.
Oh, and keep your eyes peeled for the occasional screen star. No, we’re not talking about those off Love Island, but more along the lines of Sophia Loren and Anthony Hopkins who’ve been known to walk the JOSEPH halls.
Joe’s Café: The restaurant will relaunch on 25th June, at 16 Sloane Street, Knightsbridge, SW1X 9NB, www.joseph-fashion.com
