This month, two former Hawksmoor chefs will be joining forces with Shoreditch venue McQueen to launch a new 50-cover steak restaurant, The Grill at McQueen.
The menu will be created by former Hawksmoor Head Chef, Richard Sandiford, whilst Richard James (also ex Hawksmoor) will head up the kitchen. The menu will feature an extensive selection of steaks, with sauces including stilton and bone marrow gravy and cuts including D-Rump. Starters will include roasted beef, watercress and whipped Graceburn cheese and Yakisoba BBQ braised belly pork with red slaw, stilton and candied walnut, whilst other courses will include calves liver steak with maple bacon and crispy sage. Sides will include smoked mac and cheese and triple cooked chips.
There’ll a strong wine list, bourbons and a bold cocktails including the likes of the Haig Old Fashioned made with Haig Club whisky, Lagavulin, 16yo Drambuie, maple spice syrup and Angostura bitters. Or go for the Le Mans with raisin infused Barcardi superior rum, Grey Goode La Poire vodka, pear puree apple juice and sugar.
Officially opening on the 25th October they’ll be celebrating the opening with a soft launch period from the 18th to the 22nd October where you can get a rather nice 50% off your bill! Should help the budget mid-month!
