A technology focussed new restaurant is set to open its doors on Beak Street in September. Grillshack is to be a quick all day counter service grill with both eat in and take out options available til late, seven days a week.
In addition to counter service, there will also be touchscreen order and payment points plus a Grillshack app for ordering and payment at the table. This is to be a UK first. Staff dressed in industrial denim aprons will be on hand to ease guests into the technology.
The food menu comprises a selection of dishes, mostly prepared on the grill in the open kitchen. Breakfast includes grilled sourdough with scrambled eggs and maple bacon; buttermilk apple pancakes with syrup and full English breakfast with fried eggs.
An all-day menu runs from 11:30am until close each day serving up the likes of grilled rump steak with shoestring fries and smoked butter; a 100% British beef burger (single or double patties with optional Monterey Jack and bacon), grilled half chicken and halloumi with green leaves, quinoa and beetroot. You can also order sides of French fries, grilled corn with chipotle and salads.
The drinks list includes a specially crafted Grillshack lager by Brewers & Union and a selection of wines on tap. Sodas from a self-serve drinks counter, a range of healthy juices (such as homemade green juice) and filter coffee in hand-made American diner mugs will also be available throughout the day. The new venture is exclusively funded by Richard Caring and directors of the project are Mark Askew (previously of Gordon Ramsay) and Hannah Bass (previously of Hakkasan and ETM Group).
