This month, Quaglino’s restaurant and Champagne bar turns 21 and it's celebrating with a five month programme of revelry. First up is the opening of the rainbow Bellini Bar today running through to July and serving 21 varieties of brightly coloured bellini such as Orange Marmalade, Beetroot, Black Cherry and Basil & Mandarin.
The Meringue Girls confectionary company has created an exclusive Peach & Champagne Bellini flavoured meringue which will be served at the bar alongside a rainbow assortment of flavours from Rosewater to Lemongrass & Ginger.
March will also welcome back Quag’s legendary Cigarette Girls – sadly, for some, without the cigarettes. Instead, their hand-crafted trays of Nineties fame will proffer meringue ‘kisses’ to milling guests.
From March 24th, the venue will present “21,” an exhibition by photographer and filmmaker Dean Chalkley featuring 21 photographs portraying heroes and heroines from the contemporary music scene while in April, a programme of live music will take place for Quaglino’s Spring Sessions with live bands taking to the stage to entertain dining guests.
Continuing the celebrations, throughout May, visitors will enjoy a pop-up flower garden to coincide with the Chelsea Flower Show plus workshops with Pinstripes & Peonies florists. Floral flavours will be added to those meringue kisses – paired this time with garden-inspired Bellinis, such as Orange Blossom, English Rose and French Violet.
