Wine and cigar lovers should head over to Selfridges' new lower ground floor Wine and Cigar shop pronto as now, you don’t even have to wait til you get home to get stuck into liquid purchases because it’s got its own bar as well!

Harry Gordon’s Cocktail and Wine Bar lies at the heart of the shop. With a focus on boutique London producers, the cocktails have been created by drinks guru Ryan Chetiyawardana. The menu features signature serves like the 1909 Smash – Sipsmith gin, peach, mint and Selfridges 1909 IPA – along with lots of other seasonal cocktails

The bar will also host a variety of London beers including Selfridges 1909 IPA. In fact beer is a big focus, making Selfridges the only department store in the UK to stock Craft London beers on tap. There are also 10 craft bottles behind the bar. Wines on offer range from a classic Sancerre to a funky Greek Assyirtiko. And to soak it all up? A selection of charcuterie, cheese and seasonal salads from the Selfridges Foodhall.

All wines in the Wine Shop (over 330 at £60 and above, 900 from £7.99 and, 300 Champagnes)  itself will be available to drink too thanks to a six minute chiller and there are also enomatic machines for tastings – 24 regularly changing reds, whites, rosés and a new enomatic machine dedicated to spirits as well.

This month, customers can expect samplings including Laurent Perrier, Gosset, The Bubble, Imperial Dragon Vodka and Koko Kanu and for whisky month from 20 May to 16 June there will be further samplings and an even on 13 June featuring brands such as Macallan, Balvenie, Monkey Shoulder, Dalmore and Compass Box.
