ICHIBUNS – not something you need to go to your doctor about, but actually inspired by the Japanese term ‘ichiban’ to mean number one, and now the name of a new Japanese-inspired casual restaurant opening on Wardour Street.
Taking up residence in the heart of Soho, on Wardour Street, the three-story, 90-cover, venue features an eclectic Tokyo rock and roll interior, whilst the menu is inspired by Hokkaido, the food capital of Japan. Must tries the signature burger with a Wagyu beef and 28 day-aged, grass-fed Angus prime cut patty; ramen, hand rolled maki and CocoWhip. To drink you’ll find shakes and sealed to go cocktails -yep takeaway cocktails.
Born by the founders of Nobu, Busaba Eathai, Ping Pong and BOND ST (New York) and created by a team of renowned restaurateurs, food and design experts from brands such as Byron, Zuma, Roka and Mr Wong, it’s definitely got the backing, so we should be in safe hands.
ICHIBUNS: Opens 21st July 2017, 22 Wardour Street, Soho, W1D 6QQ, www.ichibuns.co.uk
