Scott Hallsworth of the critically acclaimed Kurobuta is back and this time he has taken inspiration from the dive bar subculture of the Orient where people come together to eat and listen to music and has created Joe’s Oriental Diner.
Opening today on the Kings Road, the restaurant which seats 38 will be serving up pan-Asian, bare bone recipes which originate from dishes eaten in the ports of Asia dishes. So expect to find the likes of fire cracker chicken, crunchy sweet and sour fish, coconut short-rib Rendang and slow cooked duck red curry with lychees.
Drinks will include Frosties – no that is not some cereal/alcohol cocktail hybrid, they’re actually frosted beer tankards, as well as Chinatown teapot cocktails. For those in the know there will be a secret ‘Den’ bar upstairs as well which will sell all manner of obscure spirits and libations.

A bit of a cake connoisseur, Editor, Emily is constantly on the search for the best brownie London has to offer, a restaurant once even put them on the menu when they heard she was visiting… You’ll either find her on a night out or debriefing over brunch the next day with plenty of coffee and eggs.
