A Japanese style Izakaya from an ex Nobu head chef with seriously innovative dishes that are decidedly less spenny than the mothership? That piqued your interest!
Opening its doors today, this is the second venue from chef/owner Scott Hallsworth following on from the Kings Road original and taking inspiration from the Izakayas of Japan which serve tapas-style plates in a casual setting.
Said dishes are Japanese classics with a Western, twist. We’re talking the likes of Sweet Potato and soba-ko fries, Salmon gravadlax and avocado tartare with dill mayo, rice crunchies and yuzu zest, Tuna sashimi pizza with truffle ponzu, red onions and green chillies and Hallsworth signature BBQ pork belly in steamed buns and spicy peanut soy from the Robata grill.
Early risers can even breakfast on croissants with green matcha tea butter washed down with Rocket Fuel tonic (rocket leaves, ginger and matcha tea). And with a rock’n’roll soundtrack, wooden tables, cocktail bar and outdoor terrace, this is one catch you definitely don’t want to miss.
