You may just think of Leadenhall Market as being a cool place to shop in the heart of the City – where better to get your fix of high street classics Jigsaw, Reiss and Hobbs than beneath the market’s historic vaulted arches? However, the stunning space also plays host to fun events throughout the year and becomes available after hours for private or corporate hire for up to 600 guests!

Leadenhall Market has its roots in the first century AD with a basilica and forum and has since become home to a poultry market, beef market and herb market – not to mention the capital’s cheesemongers. It’s even played a leading role in the Harry Potter franchise starring as Diagon Alley in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The venue is accessed via the New Moon pub on Gracechurch Street. Using bespoke floor to ceiling gable ends, the market’s Central Avenue can be sealed off providing ultimate exclusivity for the grandest of receptions. Space heaters behind the scenes will ensure the vaulted space is cosy and inviting all year round so the only chills at your Christmas party will be on the dance floor.

Guests will be greeted by butlers serving wine, beer and soft drink on trays and clients can use the venue’s top event catering provided by its many restaurants and food outlets for both canapé receptions and sit-down dinners.

There’s even an entire London pub at your sole disposal to compliment your event. Newcomer to the hospitality roster is the brilliant Hotel Chocolat which has just opened up an outlet on site so desserts will not be a problem!

Look out for public events too such as the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Race on 8 March, further entertainment later in the month for St Patrick's Day and then a very British St George’s Day in April.
