Leman Locke: A New Kind of Hotel

Openings
By Emily Gray | 20th October 2016

This month will see a new kind of hotel coming to London’s East End – Leman Locke: the aparthotel. As the name implies it’s somewhere between Airbnb and a hotel and is designed around living like a local and being part of the community, whilst having the luxuries a hotel provides.

With 105 spacious studios and 63 chic one bedroom suites; the rooms will be almost double the size of the average hotel room at 31 sq m and will focus on the living space and not just the bed – as they know that you need a space that you actually want to spend time in, not just crash at the end of the day. That said if you’re staying two weeks or longer then you can get a bespoke bed so you can have it as firm or soft as you like. Ideal.

Grzywinski + Pons have designed the modern furniture that features Leman Locke’s signature L shaped sofas. With a monochrome base all the rooms will feature vibrant pops of colour, a fully fitted kitchen and living area with Smart TVs, complimentary ultra-fast WiFi, exclusive Kinsey Apothecary toiletries and a crate of delicious goodies.

Bringing the sociability that comes from a hostel (without the shared dorms…thank goodness) there will be weekly events held in the communal areas that will range from gin tastings to tech meet ups. There’ll also be two meeting rooms on the 21st and 22nd floors, providing views out across Shoreditch and a 24 hour gym.

Bringing the best parts of serviced apartments and hotels together, it’s going to be a new way to live and stay in London.

Leman Locke: Opens October 2016, 15 Leman Street, E1 8EN, www.sacoapartments.com
