You don’t need us to tell you that life is all about balance. About the splurging and the saving, the nights in and the nights out, the burgers and salads.
That’s what is happening at Lockhouse, which opens tomorrow in Paddington. You’ll find it overlooking Grand Union Canal in Merchant’s Square. It’s big too with 180 covers throughout the bar, restaurant and mezzanine and a further 70 covers outside – might want to wait until it’s a bit warmer for that one though. It’ll mix vintage chic and distressed leather seating with a dramatic polished concrete bar and large open kitchen – see there’s that balance again.
Burgers and brunch are the order of the day at Lockhouse. Open from 8am you can pick up pastries, fresh juices and premium roasted coffee or wait until the burgers come out. There is the signature Lock + Loaded and Hot House which has plenty of Sriracha and to go with them the best craft beers bottled and kegged, with weekly specials and up to 20 international craft beers on tap. Or change it up with burgers and cocktails. Obviously, life can’t be fuelled on burgers alone, as much as we try, so to go with them will be signature Jam Jar salads including an Indonesian Gado Gado salad and a Mexican black bean salad along with New York deli style sandwiches, hot ‘n’ sticky buffalo wings and a herb basted spit roast chicken with crunchy slaw and fries. To finish, there’ll be classic puddings, yet to be announced, we expect they’re going to feature something indulgent.
It opens tomorrow but you can also give it a go in January where from the 1st–15th they’ll be offering you 50% off all food. That’ll help come January when you’re in need of beating the post-Christmas blues without breaking the bank.
