Planning a wedding? Then you need to head to the London Foodie Wedding Fair this Sunday because when it comes to weddings, the food is up there with the venue and the dress. Forget the speeches or the dancing, secretly all the guests are just looking forward to the food. Get it wrong and everyone will be saying ‘Oh remember when they got married and all we had were those limp canapés’ or worse (and yes this has happened) ‘how about that time when we all got food poisoning?’
Taking place in Skinner’s Hall the fair run by iconic London caterers, Party Ingredients, will give couples the chance to peruse numerous canapés stalls and food stations whilst sipping Champagne and discussing ideas and getting advice from specialists about how to create the perfect bespoke wedding feast.
The event is all about unashamed luxury, style and decadence and the list of exhibitors include Cloud Nine Marshmallows who are loved by Sophie Dahl and Jasmine Guiness and serve more than just your usual pink and white marshmallows, think salted caramel peanut and pistachio and white chocolate.
Oyster Meister will be showcasing their oyster shucking…well they are an aphrodisiac and this is a wedding… whilst Smith and Sinclair will be tempting you with their cocktail pastilles (that’s alcoholic sweets to you and me). Planning an afternoon tea themed wedding? Then head to The London Tea Company for not only the perfect blend but also for your bunting fix – they have all the decorations you might need or Little Fancies who will be serving up delicious little morsels.
If you’re still looking for a wedding venue and need a bit of inspiration, then it’s also a wonderful chance to see the historic and elegant Skinner’s Hall in all its glory.
Hey you can’t predict the Best Man’s speech, you don’t know if you might trip on your veil or if the Maid of Honour takes on your sister in a fight for the bouquet, but at least you’ll know no one will be going hungry.
The London Foodie Wedding Fair runs from 11am -4pm 21st Sunday September and admission includes Champagne and a goody bag.
