‘Here, have some ramen’, why thank you, thats very Kanada Ya! Kanada-Ya launched in Yukuhashi, Japan, in 2008, the brainchild of Kanada Kazuhiro and was an instant hit and it wasn’t long before he decided to take the show on the road, to Hong Kong and the UK.
In 2014 it arrived in Covent Garden and was as popular here as back home, with Kazuhiro opening a further restaurant in Haymarket and, as of 22nd March, on Islington’s Upper Street.
The authentic Tonkotsu ramen specialist uses an incredibly time-consuming process to perfect their ramen and as a result it has a unique flavour and creamy appearance that has proved irresistible to Londoners.
The new Upper Street restaurant will not only provide the same popular selection as found in the two existing outposts of Kazuhiro’s empire, but will also introduce gyoza later in the year.
Kanada-Ya Upper Street will cover one floor only and will serve 55 diners lunch and dinner. And there’s a soft launch, with 50% off bills between Sunday 18th March and Wednesday 21st.
