Perception, they say, is everything. One place this is especially true is W London, the Leicester Square hotel is about to launch their new bar celebrating London’s love of design and fashion, and it’s appropriately named The Perception.
If London is the worldwide capital of the music, fashion and design industries, Leicester Square has to be its epicentre. So where better for a bar that celebrates the city’s creative energy than W London, the stylish hotel that dominates the Western entrance to the square.
The Perception at W London combines bold design, a diverse cultural programme and, of course, killer cocktails. The design is the work of Amsterdam-based design firm Concrete who have infused the eclectic influences of London’s most iconic eras and trends. The booths are reminiscent of traditional pubs, but with a shimmering gold curtain round each you’re unlikely to be fooled that you’re in a local boozer. The bespoke leather sofas are tattooed by Soho’s famous Frith Street Tattoo studio, the palette of black and gold, offset with pastels and rich reds, speaks to London’s fashion heritage while spherical light sculptures and abstract neon artworks are a nod towards the UK’s artistic prowess.
The cultural programme will include a dining series including some of London’s most renowned culinary talents, the first of which will be Magus Reid, owner of C.R.E.A.M. in Shoreditch, while a collaboration with Mixcloud will host some of the world’s hottest DJs, both established names and those emerging on the London music scene.
Finally the cocktails menu has been developed by Head Barman and innovative mixologist Ulises Guerrero Galvez and mixes premium spirits with surprising ingredients and garnishes as each cocktail tells a theatrical story.
If perception is anything to go by, The Perception is going to be everything when it launches on Friday 27th October.
