So we’re already down with pimping our salads or sandwiches from myriad options on display at the counter. But what if we could do the same with our pizzas? Well, come June, we’ll be able to do just that at PizzaBuzz opening at the new Alphabeta development on Worship Street where punters will be encouraged to work their way down the service bar, customising everything from base to deli toppings as they go.
The new venue is the brainchild of Barnaby Meredith behind The Meredith Group of gastropubs that includes The Portman, Marylebone and The Only Running Footman in Mayfair.
Open from breakfast (yes you can have pizza for breakfast) through to dinner, the choice of bases including gluten-free are all made in-house and as for the toppings, the world is your oyster – or Wild Rock Shrimp marinated in garlic at least – along with Bacon Jam with Balsamic, Rucola, White Figs, Aubergine, Fontina and Pecorino Romano.
There will also be breakfast specials, fresh salads and burrata to dress up or down as the mood takes you. Even the homemade ice cream desserts are mix ‘n’ match with traditional and novel flavours and a choice of almond milk, goat’s or cow’s milk. Drinks span sodas and juices through to coffee and prosecco and ‘Little Beez’ goodie bags will keep the kids happy as well.
