Baked cakes and biskies and brownies oh my! With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, you are going to want to check out the newest sweet treats in town. Whether you are surprising your significant other with a fondue kit for two or splurging on an array of cupcakes to eat at home with the girls, Cutter & Squidge and Peggy Porschen’s little sister venue are two hot spots that are opening just in time for the season of love.

Annabel and Emily Lui prove to be the ultimate sister dream team as they prepare for the opening of their second dreamy bakery, Cutter & Squidge, at The Royal Exchange. The pair joined forces and succeeded in carrying out their true childhood passion of owning a bakery together. Their goal is to offer their customers a place of relaxation, where they are able to escape from reality and wash down their worries with one of their signature rainbow tea lattes.

The new bakery is offering a selection of treats we know and love, including must eat Valentine’s Day goodies that will make you ask yourself the question- should I go hard or just go home? The correct answer should be definitely go hard… on the your romantic gestures this year with the rich Valentine’s Chocolate Fudge Cake. You will for sure need a plus one to finish this gooey delight. Topped with a layer of thick ganache frosting and heart-shaped sprinkles, this treat will bake you, as Beyonce sang it, crazy in love.

Now to throw some competition into the mix… Peggy Porschen Parlour, the Instagrammable heaven we all know and love, will feature a range of delectable desserts from Salted Caramel Cupcakes to French Macarons that will certainly satisfy your sweet tooth. Starting off with a bang, the parlour will offer limited time Valentine’s Day collection, La Vie En Rose. This collection will include a Love Hearts Cookie Box and a Mon Amour Box of three cupcakes, each topped off with either a frosted rose petal or a heart. These sets are perfect for gift-giving and might give you the edge in winning over your special someone this year. There will also be a ton more sweet stuff available throughout the year, in true Peggy Porschen form!

If we haven’t succeeded in winning you over yet, we should mention that both parlours make all of their goods from scratch, using the finest British ingredients on the market. That should make you feel a bit better when indulging during this upcoming holiday! Whether you are cuffed or single, testing out these tasty treats should definitely be on your Valentine’s Day To-Do list.

Cutter & Squidge will open at 23 The Royal Exchange, Threadneedle Street on the 11th of February, and Peggy Porschen is set to throw open its doors at 219 King’s Road, just in time for Valentine’s Day! In the meantime,
