The Handbook

Raised in South London, Clement Ogbonnaya, is about to open his first pub, it’s the first venture from The Arbuthnot Group and will be a South London pub, operated by and for, South Londoners.

Clement will be taking over The Clayton Arms, just off from Peckham High Street and turning it into The Prince of Peckham, a 300- capacity venue situated over two floors where cutting edge music, Caribbean food, local get-togethers and workshops will be the order of the day.

In the kitchen will be street food connoisseurs White Men Can’t Jerk. Saturdays will be bottomless brunch day, on Sundays there’ll be a jerk-inspired roast and on Mondays you can cure your back to work blues with bottomless wings, or as they like to call it Hot Mess Mondays. Other dishes include homemade jerk sausage rolls, curried mutton shepherd’s pie and jerk sausages and mash with onion gravy. To drink you’ll find rum-based cocktails and beers.

If you’re a local artist then you’ll be able to showcase your work and they’re also going to be making the most of their space upstairs with free community-based events. After all, if there is one place that can bring everyone together, it’s at the pub with a pint.

The Prince of Peckham: Opens 18th May 2017, 1 Clayton Road, Peckham, SE15 5JA,
