Roba: All About the Grill

Paddington might not strike you immediately as a foodie destination, you’re more likely to associate it with Pret wraps before a train journey or at a push marmalade sandwiches thanks to a certain little bear, but more restaurants are opening there and today you can add a new name to your Paddington restaurant list: Roba.

It’s named after the Robata Grill so naturally the grill section is going to be the star of the show. Meat is sourced from Scotland and aged-in house and includes the likes of 48-day aged sirloin and rib eye steaks, organic lamb chops, corn-fed chicken and grilled prawns. They’re also making the big claim of having the ultimate beef burger, so if burgers are your thing get over to Roba to sink your teeth into a 21 day aged Aberdeen Angus beef patty, with pickled cucumber, smoked Cheddar, streaky bacon all in a brioche bun – we’ll let you be the judge.

Other dishes that Head Chef Andrea Secchi will be cooking up includes British classics such as fish and chips, chicken curry and seafood pie; lighter options will include salads such as pan-fried salmon, buratta with butternut squash, wildsea bass with purple potato and a prawn bisque and a wild mushroom bruschetta with poached eggs. We’ve also been told to save room for the white chocolate and lavender panna cotta.  Accompanying will be the likes of The Roba – a cocktail of medley crushed fruit, Jägermeister, crème de Fraise syrup and ginger beer.
