Sakagura Opens on Heddon Street

What happens when one of the world’s most exclusive sushi experiences; a Michelin-star restaurant; the sake Royal Warrant holders; Toridoll Corporation and Japanese plum wine brand Choya, work together? You get Sakagura, a new international Japanese dining experience coming to Heddon Street.

The menu at Sakagura will focus on traditional southern Japanese dishes and Washoku – which incorporates different elements into each meal using seasonal ingredients. Created by Executive Chef Kanji Furukawa, dishes include Hakata yakitori – grilled skewers, hand-made udon and soba noodles and freshly made sushi and sashimi. Other dishes will include Wagyu Tataki, octopus and mizuna salad, Tiger Ebi (tiger prawns with moshio salt and lemon) and lobster tempura.

Set across two floors you can sit at the traditional wooden kappo counter where you can see the chefs preparing the dishes or sit in small intimate dining booths. When it comes to drinks there’ll be a dedicated sake bar where sake chosen by Gekkeikan (one of the world’s oldest sake companies) will be served alongside seven limited edition sake-based cocktails.
