It’s official The Sanderson rocks. Well to be fair, it’s always rocked but now London’s favourite hipster hotel is playing host to a brand new music series.
On selected Thursday nights throughout the summer from 7pm, the venue’s exquisite courtyard garden is staging live sessions appropriately named, Sanderson Predicts. So bag yourself a table (booking essential!) and kick back to the sounds of the UK’s hottest new artists amidst this exotic urban oasis of flowering trees and fountains. We’ll be drinking Oriental Daiquiris – a suitably decadent blend of Bacardi rum with fresh strawberries, ginger and lemongrass.
On July 16th is a mind blowing acoustic performance by two emerging artists in association with Neon Gold and Modular Recordings. Marina of Marina & the Diamonds is a 23 year old currently creating some of the most arresting pop since Kate Bush. Snap up tickets to see her again at The Big Chill and Bestival! Wolf Gang is a debonair LSE drop out just like Mick Jagger before him, and Sanderson Predicts that he’s destined for similar success.
Taking centre stage on the 30th is a lady who needs no introduction. Brit nominated Little Boots, aka Victoria Hesketh, whose stunning debut album, Hands, rocketed to number five in the album chart last month, is set to wow her audience with an intimate performance in this magical setting. She played the recent Glastonbury festival wearing an outfit specially designed for the occasion by fashion’s enfant terrible, Henry Holland. Her new single, Remedy is released on August 19th.
What with all the excitement – not to mention the cocktails – we reckon you’ll have worked up quite an appetite so we’d heartily recommend decamping post gig to the hotel’s acclaimed Suka restaurant where New York culinary impresario, Zac Pelaccio seduces diners with his faultless Malaysian cuisine. Spiced watermelon salad, Singapore black pepper mussels and Lemongrass seabass will have you ready for an after party in no time though we’re not going anywhere without the Kaffir lime chocolate fondant dessert.
