As we head towards the end of the year, things are starting off for Savile Row’s Sartoria restaurant as they reopen after their refurbishment.

Italian chef, Francesco Mazzei (previously L’Anima) is taking up the role of chef patron and his new all-day menu will be inspired by his home region of Calabria and the surrounding area of Italy.  Highlights are said to include Eggs Purgatorio – baked eggs, spicy tomato and n’duja sauce with crostini; Astice Sibaryta – warm lobster salad ‘sybarita’ and  Baccalá marinato alla liquirizia (home-cured baccalá marinated in liquorice.  If you’re looking for sugar slump kick or need a pick me up after work then Italian breads, cakes and spuntino (that’s snacks if you don’t know your Italian) will be served at the bar.

Marrying old fair Mayfair charm with Italian style, The Libare Bar will serve seasonal twists on classics such as Negronis and Bellinis. Francesco has even created his own liqueurs including his home-grown  bergamot that’ll be used in original creations.

The interior has also had a makeover with David d’Almada  emulating the glamour and romance of 20th century Italy in his redesign which will see a new bar, cicchetti counter, two private dining rooms and a 250 bin wine cellar which will be used to host dinners and wine tastings. There is also a new outside terrace, which has us dreaming of summer evenings where we can drink alfresco again.
