Following the success of last year’s Skylodge, this Thursday sees the launch of the second pop-up project by Platterform on the roof of the Hothouse in London Fields. The Sea Adventure Series will run for 15 weeks with guest chefs taking up residency every two to three weeks.
With four sittings a night, each chef will deliver a four course seafood experience along with a fun narrative and visual element to compliment and after dinner drinks, music and games with the captain.
First Chapter is the Maiden Voyage circumnavigating the North Sea to discover the similarities between the British, Dutch and Scandinavian palates. Humorously titled courses include The Plank: honey pickled salmon, beetroot salad, gherkins and a plank of rye and Lekkerbek: dutch style fish n chips with remoulade sauce.
Maid in the Mist (Chapter 2) welcomes Dave Yorkston of Yorkston Smoke House on board. He will be installing his very own custom made cold smoker on the rooftop in preparation for his residency focused on promoting his artisanal smoked fish delicacies. Think Alder and sweet chestnut smoked salmon, pickled beetroot, stout soda bread with smoked dill butter and Cole smoked Cornish mackerel charred over chestnut coals, pickled red onion and mustard seed caviar.
In addition to the restaurant bookings, you can also pop by for drinks and snacks at the Shanty Shack bar serving rum ration cocktails and craft beers with a nautical theme while special after dinner cocktails are available at second bar, the Captain's Cabin.
