Shrimpy's Outside Grill & Bar has launched this bank holiday on the forecourt of the King's Cross Filling Station. Expect Seafood Buckets, a selection of Tortas, Mexican Grilled Corn On The Cob plus lots of Prosecco and Frozen Margaritas.

Tortas are served on freshly baked telera bread (apart from Cemita and Ahogada), and include Ahogada with Marinated Pork, Steak Completa, Squid and Chorizo, Prawn and Chorizo, Aubergine and Provoleta and Chicken Cemita. Ingredients are all cooked on the grill alongside delicious Mexican Grilled Corn On The Cob with herbs, butter, chilli and cheese.

Every Thursday, new Tortas flavours will be introduced as well as a new Frozen Margarita such as Pineapple and Coconut, Passion Fruit and Mandarin, Apricot and Orange, Mandarin and Mango, Grapefruit and Pineapple, and Mango and Hibiscus. Shrimpy's Seafood Bucket, a large bucket of steamed mussels, clams and prawns, served with crispy baguette and designed to share, also comes highly recommended.

Launched in 2012, the King's Cross Filling Station (KXFS) forms part of the transformation of King’s Cross. KXFS took over a disused BP garage site to create a landmark canal-side space, with a forward-thinking cultural program and al fresco drinking and dining. Architects Carmody Groarke (short-listed for a RIBA London Award 2013 for the project) are responsible for the design, based on a concept developed by Office Of Change.

A transparent and curvaceous fibreglass enclosure sets KXFS apart from York Way, glowing at night to create a striking beacon on the King’s Cross landscape. The original forecourt canopy has been retained to shelter an open-air social and cultural space overlooking the canal.
