A Sneak Preview Of Hide, The New Dabbous Restaurant

As Ollie Dabbous double locked the door of his eponymous restaurant for the final time and walked into the sunset, Michelin Star poking out of his cardboard box of possessions, we all knew that he’d be back. Well now he is and in serious style. Welcome to Hide.

Dabbous quickly built one of London’s most sought after eating spots in London when he launched back in 2012. His wonder-restaurant seemingly came out of nowhere and raced to the top of everyone’s go-to list. Now he’s had a year in the wilderness (not quite, he launched the highly successful restaurant at The Henrietta), Dabbous is back. Like, really back.

Hide is set over three floors, overlooking Green Park and dominated by a magnificent spiral staircase. “Ground”, on, surprisingly enough, the ground floor, will be the go-to for a la carte lunch and dinner menus, as well as afternoon tea and breakfast. An open bakery will serve freshly baked breads, cakes and viennoiseries. Simple, seasonal fare.

“Above”, on the mezzanine floor, looks set to be the posh bit, with a tasting menu and a stage for the real genius of Ollie Dabbous to seize imaginations.

“Below” will feature a wide array of spirits and cocktails. The whole venture is in partnership with (which we’re guessing might mean ‘funded by’?) Hedonism Wines and their Russian owner, mobile phone billionaire Yevgeny Chichvarkin. But Chichvarkin has certainly brought more than rolls of banknotes to the table, Hedonism Wines offers a serious array of choice and, together with long-term Dabbous collaborator Oskar Kinberg, will be giving guests a treat with a carefully curated cocktail menu.

Chichvarkin and Hedonism Wines’ CEO Tatiana Fokina have teamed up with These White Walls studio and Lustedgreen architects to create what looks like a spectacular interior that will only add to the drama of Dabbous food and presence.
