St Bartholomew may have been the patron saint of cobblers rather than restaurateurs but St Barts Brewery, the new British diner, lounge, bar and live music venue in West Smithfield is sure to inspire more than a little devotion.

Owned by Kent’s Hush Heath Estate, it will showcase the sparkling Balfour Brut Rosé, red, rosé and white wines with ciders from Jake’s Orchard. A ground floor diner, bar and lounge with floor to ceiling windows, mismatched furniture and huge movie set-style lighting will serve modern British classics from breakfast through to dinner and also host regular music nights. Upstairs, the mezzanine Balfour Bar features sconce wall lights made from vintage barometers.

Head Chef Kalifa Diakhaby (Bistro du Vin) has conceived a menu with starters such as Roast king scallops with cauliflower and caramelized pineapple and Devilled chicken wings while mains feature a Prawn and lobster burger and Pan-fried sea bass with grilled fennel. For pud there’s Blackcurrant jelly and vanilla ice cream and Chocolate pot with shortbread. Pure heaven.
