Bringing a slice of New York glamour to Farringdon’s Charterhouse Square is Strip Bar & Steak which launches tomorrow with its modern twist on the traditional New York steakhouse.

The new venue will specialise in New York Strip steak using a selection of USDA Black Angus Prime grade beef, hand-cut to order from 250g up to 550g! Sides include Mac & Cheese + Lobster, Strip Baked truffle mash and Onion Straws while starters feature Steak Carpaccio, Tuna Tartar, and Lobster Cocktail and Apple, pear and raspberry salad.

There are also specials such as Lobster Curry, Porcini risotto and Strip Steak Stroganoff and steak alternatives come in the shape of Tuna Mignon and Halibut. New York style desserts are Shaken drunken Sundaes (we think there is alcohol involved here), Crème brulée and Pineapple carpaccio with coconut sorbet and fresh chili lime dressing.

A comprehensive wine list will feature over 100 wines, all available by the glass or carafe and ranging from £20 to £800 and parties can book a private room for 12 set away to the front of the restaurant or one of three eight-seater booths beneath exposed brick archways.

Set over two levels, interiors combine urban style with a touch of Las Vegas, featuring exposed brick walls, dark wooden tables and floors and plush leather seating. Guests will be welcomed by neon lights, daily specials will be advertised on a model of the classic Nevada Stardust Casino sign and the soundtrack specially curated with a NY vibe.
