Fashion Week may be done and dusted for another season but later this month, The Balcon, a grand brasserie with a Coco Chanel twist will be arriving this side of the channel in London’s Pall Mall.

Headed up by Head Chef Vincent Menager, who’s worked under Frédéric Anton (Le Pré Catelan, Paris), Albert Roux, Alain Dutournier (Café Faubourg, Paris) and Alain Ducasse, the all-day menu will combine both classic French and British cooking styles and ingredients.

In addition to breakfast lunch and dinner, think, morning tea and savouries, both French and English afternoon teas, and a Charcuterie Bar with its own resident Charcutier. There’s also a Champagne Balcony, for storing the fizz, framed by two spiral staircases, from which the restaurant takes its name and which overlooks the main room.

We love the concept for St James’s Bar at The Balcon. It’s inspired by the interiors of Coco Chanel’s 1920’s Paris apartment at 55 Rue Cambon and highlights will include vintage cocktails from antique recipe books. There will also be a Champagne Angel on hand to provide expert advice.

The space with its Grade II Listed double height ceiling was designed in collaboration with the award winning Russell Sage Studios (The Savoy and The Goring Hotel) and Gorgeous Group.

The Balcon, 8 Pall Mall, SW1
