A Texan BBQ, live music, dance floor, space for 500 and even a 1050s silver Airstream caravan for private hire – Curtain Road is getting an all-in-one venue next week set over two levels of a vast converted Victorian warehouse.

Sister to the Camden original, Blues Kitchen Shoreditch’s diner menu has been devised by smoking hot talent from Bodean’s and Brighton’s BBQ Shack with signature meats smoked in an in-house pit over hickory, oak, mesquite and fruit woods plus bespoke BBQ sauces from Brick Lane street foodie, The Rib Man.

Other options include Fried alligator, Hot buffalo wings, Jerk chicken burgers, Pan fried catfish, Blueberry & lemon cheesecake, Oreo Cookie shakes – with or without bourbon – or you can snag a live Scottish lobster from a 150 gallon tank.

About that bourbon, there are upwards of 100 types – William Heaven Hill to Buffalo Trace served neat, on the rocks or in cocktails like Whisky Sours and Mint Juleps. There’s also draught beer from Hackney Wick’s Crate Brewery alongside world’s strongest beer, the 67.5% Snake Venom which we’re really hoping doesn’t come by the pint.
