Today sees the opening of a bar with perhaps one of the longest names we’ve come across: The Cocktail Trading Company Development Bar and Table – quite a mouthful eh? It’s brought to London by Andy Mil, Elliott Ball and Olly Brading the co-owners of The Cocktail Trading Company and is situated on Great Marlborough Street below all-day brasserie Central & Co.
The mission: to create the best and most innovative cocktails out there. So the 50 cover bar will feature a constantly changing, creative and unique cocktail list and since they’re always changing the menu they’ll be able to experiment with exciting ingredients and collaborations – they’re the pioneers of the cocktail scene if you will. They’ve also created faux-cocktails using the freshest seasonal ingredients, so that whether you’re doing Dry January or not you’d want to drink them. Alongside the cocktails they’ll be serving trial dishes from the brasserie upstairs in case you get the inevitable alcohol induced hunger pangs.
The bar itself is an eclectic mix of a traditional Victoria ‘gin palace’ with elements of vintage and industrial London. A mix of classic green and oxblood tube tiles, cast iron, raw brickwork and marble tiles decorated with street art exhibitions from new, young artists and cocktail memorabilia and paraphernalia, all to a soundtrack of old school hip hop and 70’s and 80’s funk.
