The Hotel Missoni

20th April 2009

The Hotel Missoni is the first venture to incorporate the iconic Italian fashion brand with a stylish yet comfortable hub for sophisticated international travellers.

With a prime location on the corner of George IV Bridge and the Royal Mile, the Missoni Hotel bridges Edinburgh's Old and New Towns, and provides visitors with a central and desirable place to stay. The real attraction, however, is the interior, which in true Missoni style combines simplicity, quality, and brilliant flashes of colour with touches of the unmistakeable Missoni prints. Designed by Creative Director Rosita Missoni, one of the original founders of the fashion house, the hotel is home to some iconic pieces of design, such as Hans J Wegner's Wishbone Chair, and in honour of its Scottish heritage pieces by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

The lobby will be home to two oversized mosaic urns, which will become a Hotel Missoni trademark as the brand expands, with each pair decorated in the colour scheme of the individual property. The decor across the six floors of amenities will be principally black and white with accents of strong colour, particularly in the high-tech, luxurious bathrooms where guests are provided with coveted Missoni robes and linens.

The hotel will also become a hub for those looking for a sophisticated place to eat and drink , thanks to its homely yet modern Cucina, offering fresh and seasonal Italian meals, and the Bar Missoni, set to become one of Edinburgh's best places to see and be seen – the ultimate fashionista hang-out.
