Fitzrovia is currently having its moment in terms of restaurants and kitchens with the openings of The Detox Kitchen, House of Ho, Dickie Fitz (next week) and soon to be Bao, but today we’re all about the launch of The Larder.
Opening in Pearson Square, the 35 cover café and food store will be serving up healthy breakfasts, delicious cakes and pastries, lunch as well as food gifts to take home. Stop by on the way to work for super fruit salad with coconut and chia seed pots with mixed berries, or if it’s going to be one of those mornings then fuel up with a toasted sandwich which will be packed with everything from Full English to spinach, ricotta and mushroom. We’ve also heard that the cinnamon rolls that Executive Chef Diego Cardoso are not to be missed!
Caffeine fixes will be achieved with their own brand coffee created by Reads Coffee Roasters, for tea drinkers there’ll be Teahouse Exclusives and cold-press juice fans can drink the likes of Alkalize (apple, cucumber, kale and spinach) and Purify (beetroot, apple, carrot, celery and ginger) from the Juiceman.
Come lunch time fresh salads with toppings including salmon and lime, will be served alongside savoury tarts, home-made sausage rolls and sandwiches. The 4pm slump will be defeated with St John’s freshly baked doughnuts, plum jam cheesecake and chocolate mousse with honeycomb.
As we all know food makes the best gifts and you’ll be able to pick up freshly made pasta, olive oils, charcuterie, artisan sourdough bread from Michelin-starred Hedone and cheeses from La Fromagerie for your loved ones. You can also get your hands on a selection of organic or biodynamic wines and the VDP de Méditerranée, “Frigousse”, Château La Coste is sold in reusable bottles meaning you can get a refill for just £10. You know what, forget buying them as gifts, they will be coming straight home with us.
