The Riverside Restaurant That’s Going To Spice Up Kingston

Sleepy Kingston on Thames could probably do with a little spicing up, right? Well now it will, as Indian restaurant Chakra opens its second restaurant, right in the centre of Kingston.

Kensington has been good to Chakra, the Indian restaurant has built up a loyal following and the food is some of the best Indian cuisine in London, so the perfect time for a second version. And with Kingston prime for the taking, they’ve brought things to the river. Bringing with them a team of Indian chefs at the extensive lunch and evening menus will include some of Chakra’s most popular dishes like their lamb rogan josh, their signature Kashmiri lamb with ginger, chilli, saffron and whole spices and their vegan-friendly Chakra channa.

Style-wise, the restaurant will be richly coloured, bejewelled and strong in greens, gold and purples with iridescent mirrors, lanterns general Indian bits and bobs, giving a nod to the country’s colonial heritage and rich history.

Sitting, as it does, by the Thames, Chakra Riverside will be the perfect brunch spot. Providing masala omelette and mogo chips, and Indian-style scrambled eggs, anda ka burjhee, plus chilli cheese toast along with some traditional chai and organic tea, this is a serious brunch offering.

Opens Monday 9th July, 1 Riverside Walk, Bishops Palace House, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1QN
