This is pretty big news, The Stafford London has announced that it will be launching its first independent restaurant project this year. Following the opening of The Game Bird back in 2017 and the relaunch of  the American Bar last year, the new restaurant, in a first, will not be housed within the hotel.  Instead, the restaurant will be opening on the foodie Charlotte Street but The Stafford’s Culinary Director, Ben Tish will still be at the helm.

The restaurant, Norma, will be inspired by the food and culture of Sicily with a particular emphasis on the Moorish influences on the island’s cuisine. Emulating the grand café culture found in Sicily, the restaurant will be all about that old-school Italian hospitality, flair and charm but with a contemporary vibe.

Making its home in an old converted townhouse, Norma will be split across three floors and will include a cocktail bar, private dining space and a crudo bar. Final details haven’t yet been announced but we do know that the all-day dining menu will feature modern Sicilian-inspired dishes using both seasonal Italian and British produce. Those dining in the restaurant can choose from anti-pasti, pasta, grilled meat and fish dishes, whilst upstairs in the private dining room guests can order platters of seasonal vegetables and other sharing dishes including whole fish.

Norma is set to open this summer and as more details start to come in, we will of course, let you know.

Norma will open on 8 Charlotte Street, Fitzrovia, W1T 2LS , summer 2019
