Cubitt House already own a fantastic stable of restaurants and hotels, including The Thomas Cubitt on Elizabeth Street, The Orange, The Grazing Goat, The Alfred Tennyson and now they’re to be joined by The Coach Makers Arms.
The three storey public house perfectly fits the style of Cubitt House’s previous acquisitions, set on a corner of Marylebone Lane it will continue their tradition of elegant, high-end gastropubbing.
The building itself is impressive, fully renovated thanks to design agency, Coriander Buildings who has designed similar projects including Disrepute, Rum Kitchen and Riding House Cafe. With a bespoke handmade bar dominating the ground floor bar area with its burnished metal back displaying wines and spirits. By day the bar will be lit by the vast windows while antique coach lights will add atmosphere when the nights draw in.
The first floor includes a dining room for up to 50, with original features throughout; it’s an ideal events space, along with the basement cocktail bar which can be deployed for smaller parties or simply for grabbing a cocktail in the atmospheric vaulted space with its carved wooden bar and carefully curated cocktail menu.
The menu will marry with the Cubitt House tradition of seasonal British produce and offer a selection of daily specials. The group’s long-time partners, including Trecorras Farm, Lyme Bay fish reserve and Lyons Hill farm will be supplying The Coach Makers Arms and with a handy in-house meat curing operation food wastage and bolstering the farm-to-plate ethos the group’s known for.
This is a handsome addition to The Cubitt House family, and another great pub to add to the already impressive selection in Marylebone.
