Pinchos is such a good onomatopoeia…just going to eat a pinch of this and a pinch of that, because of course pinchos are small plates and they will be the order of the day at Tuyo, a new restaurant opening in Broadway Market this month.
The menu, which is created by Chef Ricardo Pimentel (Salt Yard Group), brings together Mediterranean and Levantine dishes with a Spanish twist. There’ll be Spanish and Italian cheeses and charcuterie; harissa lamb rump with pisto, black olive couscous and pistachio; duck and figs with pearl barley, gremolata, pomegranate, carrot puree and smoked almonds and Picos blue and date croquetas.
Taking inspiration from Turkey, main dishes will include the likes of chicken thighs with honey poached apricots, sumac yoghurt and pistachios; halloumi, roast beetroot, orange hazelnuts and 8 -year aged balsamic; dill and lime cured salmon with beetroot, yoghurt and berries and burrata, black beans, confit mixed peppers and sourdough croutons.
To drink, it’s all about cocktails, we’ve got our eye on the Saffron Aphrodisiac, a mix of tequila, agave, coriander, lime juice, chilli peppers and saffron. Although the Chilli Gunners made from Havana Club 3yr, Passoa, raspberry liqueur, lime and homemade chilli syrup also sounds right up our street. Guess we’ll just have to have both.
