It was with some sadness that we told you about the closure of Proud Camden, founder Alex Proud was moving Proud to pastures new and now we know that he is opening the Proud Group’s new flagship club in Embankment and it’s set to be huuuge.
There’ll be a new reason to walk along Embankment at night now, other than when you’re trying to impress your date with the twinkling lights of Southbank ‘oh look it’s the London Eye, so romantic, kiss me’. Not anymore, now you can take your date to the UK’s biggest and most spectacular dinner-cabaret experience.
Bringing East and West together, the new club will marry the opulence of modern Singapore with the smoky, sensuality of 1920’s Paris and original Art Deco interiors all under a double-height atrium.
There’ll be space for 450 diners who’ll be able to watch conceptual shows every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, which will fuse together modern circus, cabaret and classic burlesque acts, as they eat from a pan-Asian supper club menu. We’ve also heard that the first-floor cocktail lounge will be the place to be if you want to best appreciate the aerial performances. Once dinner is over the tables will be cleared away and turned into a nightclub for 750 revellers with late night shows and carriages (Ubers) not needed until 5am.
Proud Embankment: Opens 12th April 2018, 8 Victoria Embankment, WC2R 2AB, www.proudcabaretembankment.com
