In the second part of our Valentine's Day events we are looking at some of the best menus available in London this year. From heart -shaped pizzas to caviar, from oysters to macaroni there is something out there for everyone. Just remember the one rule – no garlic …especially if you are on a first date! 



If the thought of fine dining or silver service on Valentine’s Day when you are trying to impress your date is a little bit nerve- wracking, then how about pizza at B-Soho? Perfect! Even more perfect because they are heart shaped! Start with a glass of Champagne, follow by a heart shaped pizza or spaghetti and finish with a decadent chocolate fountain just right for sharing! 14th February


Not sure whether oysters really are an aphrodisiac? Well you can test the theory out at Bibendum on Valentine’s Day. They will be serving up Gillardeau Speciales, rock oysters as well as West Mersea No.2 (for those who prefer native varieties). For an even more indulgent Valentine’s Day you can order Oscietra caviar (which is also apparently an aphrodisiac) and of course plateau de fruits de mer. Oysters and caviar? You will be irresistible! 14th February


In the South Kensington/Chelsea areas this Valentine’s Day or over in Notting Hill?  Can you hear the Bumpkin menu calling you? We can – how good does this sound? Macaroni and goat’s cheese with roasted artichoke hearts, parsnip truffle cream and a sage and sesame crumble.  Other dishes include pan fried scallops, poached wild ducks egg and a chocolate coffee gateaux with kirsch ice cream. 14tFebruary

Cassis Bistro

Bringing the vibrant and punchy flavours of Provence to the Brompton Road is Cassis Bistro. For Valentine’s Day they will be serving up a series of small plates, perfect for sharing with your date including Champagne and langoustine risotto, Perigord black truffle tagliolini or risotto, line-caught sea bass with orange glazed fennel followed by vanilla souffle and a snow eggs 'surprise',  very intriguing….. 14th February

Cinnamon Kitchen 

Start your evening with a glass of Bollinger Rose on arrival before sitting down at Indian restaurant, Cinnamon Kitchen’s elegant but relaxed restaurant.  With a menu leading from an aperitif Love Potion No 9 concoction of lychee bellini flavoured with rose and grains of paradise all the way through to pistachio and white chocolate soufflé, stopping off in between for a tandoori Scottish salmon with a mustard and dill green pea relish, the food here sounds fantastic. 14th February

Corrigan’s Mayfair

For the most exclusive and special Valentine’s Day then you have to head to Richard Corrigan’s eponymous Mayfair restaurant. Based on a first come first served basis, one lucky couple, will have the opportunity to dine in the intimate Kitchen Library – Richard’s personal library, followed by a decadent stay at the Grosvenor House, AJW Marriott Hotel. Dinner consists of Champagne, canapés, a tasting menu with matched wines and handmade petit fours. Once in your Executive Suite you will be treated to another Champagne reception, followed by breakfast in bed the next day. At £1500 it might be at the higher end the date budget, but then surely true love is priceless? 14th February

Eight Members' Club – Moorgate

The perfect hideaway in the centre of London, private members club Eight Moorgate is putting on a sumptuous menu for Valentine’s Day this year in their contemporary European restaurant, Quartier which has beautfiul panoramic views of the city below . The menu starts with an amuse bouche of tempura tiger prawns with a sweet chilli sauce and follows on to dishes such as Scottish salmon gravadalax with potato salad and black mustard dressing and braised ox cheek!  14th February


Get hearts racing and have a fun filled Latin American inspired evening at Floriditas which celebrates the night with fine dining and cutting edge cocktails aplenty. Almost as soon as you enter you will be handed one of the venue's famous drinks, setting the tone for more decadence to come. As for the food you are in the capable hands of Chef Sasha Rieb who has designed a luxurious three course meal specially for Floridita's with dishes of pan roasted wild sea bass fillet with wilted spinach and chargrilled fillet of beef on roasted red peppers fondant potato and green peppercorn sauce. Finish with a chilled strawberry parfait with physalis and strawberry coulis.14th February

Home House

Enjoy the romance of Home House’s traditional Valentine’s menu, inspired by rituals of courtly love. This year the artfully designed ‘Feast of St Valentine’ consists of a superbly balanced four course dinner with highlights including salt baked celeriac, confit duck beignet and hazelnut mayonnaise and starters of roasted foie gras with an accompaniment of  Pain Perdu and figs and rose Champagne jelly for pudding. But Home House aren't just giving you one option, no they are giving you three as there is an Oriental menu in Home House’s Octagon Dining Room and a brasserie style menu in The Restaurant in No. 19. Now which one to choose? 14th February


Located in the impressive former Reuter’s building enjoy a high powered romantic dinner at Lutyens. The award winning restaurant of Sir Terence Conran has created a special sharing menu for two, including romantic staples of champagne, oysters and cheese. The wine bar will also offer a small menu of oysters, charcuterie, cheese and a bottle of champagne. After this and depending what mood your evening has taken so far enjoy a screening of classic films Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or American Psycho where popcorn and petit fours will be served throughout.  14th 

Mint Leaf Restaurant and Bar

Enjoy some stylish Indian Cuisine at the West End's Mint Leaf just minutes away from Trafalgar Square. The night will include a  four course meal designed by talented chefs with champagne and sharing platters on top.  From crispy fried soft shell crab to lamb shammi kebabs the menu looks to be a true taste sensation. To finish with there are alternative twists on dessert with raspberry sorbet and an intriguing rose petal sandwich on offer. 14th February


Secret yourself away in the exclusive private members club of Morton's as you have dinner in the one of Mayfair's favourite haunts. Looking to reflect this fantastic reputation the Valentines menu does not look likely to disappoint with dishes of perigord truffle risotto, Cornish sea bass and raspberry and chocolate Mielle-feuille to finish. On top of all this Morton's will give a box of chocolates to all couples. What sweethearts. Also  excitingly Morton’s Club welcomes Janet Devlin, the auburn haired pop star from the Emerald isle, who shot to fame on the X Factor in 2011 for a unique Valentine’s Day performance. She will be showcasing songs from her debut album out this summer, as well as some much-loved romantic classics. All guests will receive  luxury goodies too!  14th February

Northbank Restaurant 

Overlook a twinkling London on the most romantic weekend of the year as you  settle down to stunning Thameside views, a 3 course menu and champagne at the Northbank Restaurant. The stylish restaurant's menu is set to include a scrumptious array of treats from seared West Country scallops and a herb crusted rack of lamb to share all finished off with playful desserts such as the dark chocolate fondant with peanut butter ice cream and popping candy.  14th -15th February

One Aldwych

One Aldwych are keeping things simple with a beautiful three course meal created by Head Chef Dominic Teague. Start your celebrations with a crisp glass of Lallier Rose Grand Resérve and follow it with dishes such as Brixham crab salad, pan fried halibut with caramelized onion, creamed potato and roast salsify and for pudding we are drawn to the chocolate soufflé with pistachio ice cream! 14th February

Pont ST

On your first Valentine’s date with someone new, join new restaurant Pont ST on their first as well! Located at London’s Belgraves hotel, their debut February 14th is set to include a playful set menu designed by chef Sophie Michell. On here you’ll find a menu of rock oysters, lobster and truffle fries as well as unexpected treats of absinthe truffles – this is one to spoil yourself and someone else with. 14th February 


Mayfair restaurant Quaglionos aren’t just celebrating Valentine’s Day they are celebrating a whole month of love with a special bespoke sharing menu available throughout February. Head Chef Stefano Leone has created dishes such as salmon wellington and for pudding there is Assiette of Chocolate! Sounds good to us, do we have to share it? For those dining just on the 14th there is also a special three course menu. Available throughout February

Shaka Zulu 

A little bit different than the usual Valentine's menu, single stemmed roses and whining violins are nowhere to be seen in Shaka Zulu, London' s largest South African restaurant. With a stunning yet cosy interior, every inch of this venue stays true to its South African roots and the Valentine's Day menu looks to be no exception. With the package including a five course meal, entry into Shaka Zulu's club and a lounge singer to soundtrack your dinner let Shaka Zulu take care of your date all the way through to the taxi ride home. 14th February


For those who have dined at Sketch before will know that it won’t just be your date that is charming and delightful this Valentine’s Day as dinner is being served in the stunning two Michelin starred Lecture Room & Library and the Gallery. The menu includes artichoke hearts, langoustine poached in a pink Champagne consommé, grilled scallops and Pierre Gagnaire’s love desserts. Let’s just hope your date is up to the same standard as the venue. 14th February

The Greenhouse

Let’s all admit it; we are all secretly hoping that we will be whisked away to Paris to the city of love. But when we heard that French restaurant, The Greenhouse had just been awarded its second Michelin star we would much rather go there! Their valentine’s day menu includes such dishes as venison with quince. Pimento De La Vera, chestnut and chocolate, and white truffle with Jersualem artichoke and hazelnut. Bon appétit! 14th February

The Shed

Notting Hill favourite The Shed have created a delightful seven course tasting menu which can additionally be paired with matching wines. From mouthfuls such as Malden oyster with apple and shallot to small plates like fennel cured Pollock, pickled white radish, lemon mayonnaise and dill – all the dishes showcase The Shed’s devoted attention to detail and their passion for using ingredients that have been foraged! The puddings to share include honey comb crunch, mascarpone and tarragon sugar. 14th February


Huddle yourself away with your date at Tuttons in a plush red booth, a glass of prosecco in hand as you enjoy floor to ceiling views of the historic Covent Garden piazza. With culinary highlights including a beetroot cured salmon with Avruga caviar and 28 day aged rib eye beef make sure you leave room for a sharing size plate of caramel cream profiteroles! 14th February


Fact time – Umu means ‘born in nature’ and is the only Kyoto influenced restaurant in the UK, so it is pretty special really, and a great choice for Valentine ’s Day. They are serving up a Kaiseki menu with 6 courses with dishes such as, British Farmed Caviar from Exmoor with grated Radish and Cornish line-caught Squid, Tosazu served with a glass of Champagne and Roe Deer, Kabocha Puree, Perigord Truffle Sauce, followed by Chocolate Fondue with Kami-nabe – served, of course, with the obligatory 2 spoons, whether you choose to share with your date or not is another matter. 14th February
