In our final piece about Valentine's Day we have rounded up some of our favourite dinner menus, such as the Savoy's 'his and hers' menu, our favourite events – we want to head over to Charlotte Street Hotel to fall in love with Mr Darcy all over again, and if you do already have someone to share Valentine's Day with then we also have some of our favorite hotels to visit – from decadence at The Ritz to naughtiness at the South Place Hotel… spread the love!

Alain Duccase

As part of their Valentine’s menu the Alain Duccasse at The Dorchester will be serving a delicious ‘heart for two’ cake.  Created by Pastry Chef Angeo Ercolano the heart shaped chocolate sable biscuit topped with one half dark chocolate mousse and the other half a combination of raspberry sorbet, white chocolate and raspberry confit – just right for sharing! 14th February

Asia De Cuba

Valentine’s Day is not just about sharing the love it is also about sharing the food – which is why Asia De Cuba at St Martins Lane is offering a sharing Valentine’s menu which can be for groups from 2 -11. With both a vegetarian and non -vegetarian menu dishes include crab croquetas, calamari salad ‘asia de cuba’, Cuban bbq chicken, black bean and chickpea dumplings and a lentil curry – sounds good to us! 14th February

Bleeding Heart

The charming French restaurant Bleeding Heart have created a beautiful menu for Valentine’s Day – we are already excited about the raspberry macaron heart with raspberry cream, raspberry ice cream and passion fruit sauce! But before that we will be eating to our heart’s content on dishes such as cep and chervil gnocchi, vodka marinated salmon with lemon and chive crème fraiche and Keta caviar – delicious! 14th February


If you are after something a little bit more relaxed for Valentine’s Day or already have your dinner plans sorted but want something to do beforehand then get down to Bluebird on the King’s Road for their Champagne tasting which will showcase the restaurant’s favourite Champagnes! 14th February

Brasserie Joel

Forget love at first sight, at Brasserie Joel it is love at first bite, with their Valentine’s menu. Dishes such as roast pigeon and grilled scallops are followed by Rose Charlottes and Valrhona chocolate fondant. Add candlelight, live music and a rose for you or your date and you are set for a great Valentine’s Day! 14th February

Bonds Restaurant

With a fresh approach to British cuisine, chef Stephen Smith has created a wonderful menu for Valentine’s Day for those dining at Bonds. With dishes such as oysters, lobster gnocchi with sautéed samphire, line caught sea bass  caramelized fennel, Israeli couscous with chorizo and glazed razor clams, pistachio and pear frangipane and strawberry and Champagne trifle, this is definitely one for the foodies! And if after that food, travelling home seems a little far why not stay at the Threadneedles hotel?  14th February

Caxton Grill

Head Chef and also Masterchef finalist, Adam Handling has created a wonderful tasting menu for Caxton Grill which features an array of dishes such as lobster, chicken truffle and carrots and Muntjac venison, girolles, plums and smoked leaves. For those after that little bit extra you can also pair each dish with a matching wine! 14th February

Charlotte Street Hotel

Hide away from the world with a loved one at Charlotte Street Hotel, where you can enjoy the trials and tribulations of the film adaption of the Jane Austen classic, Pride and Prejudice, before sampling the four-course Valentine’s Day dinner. The pudding is a sumptuous sharing dish consisting of a chocolate cigar, raspberry pannacotta, mocha Opera, iced honeycomb parfait. Now all we need is Mr Darcy… 14th February

Cinnamon Club

It has always been believed that certain foods can stimulate sensual feelings in humans, and the Cinnamon Club has drawn on its intricate knowledge of this to create a menu which is sure to benefit you this Valentine’s. For example, the musky scent of truffles is considered to stimulate and sensitize the skin to touch and you’ll find it in the spiced truffle and rice cake. Saffron is rich in antioxidants and has always been used as an aphrodisiac so saffron pilau is on the menu, as is saffron and pistachio kulfi in sweet vermicelli nest. Enjoy… 14th February


If you are on a first date this Valentine’s Day then 1) very brave of you and 2) we say go to Circus in Covent Garden. Why? Because not only do they have a wonderful special menu but they also have brilliant performers and crazy cabaret acts who will take to the tables to entertain you whilst you dance, so if you do find the conversation isn’t flowing at least you have something to talk about… and if the date is going wonderfully then maybe you could get some ideas for later… Oh and everyone leaves with a unique gift from Rocket St George – and that is sure to gain you extra brownie points. 14th February


Valentine’s Day is all about love, so why not love yourself at Corinthia’s Valentine’s Day spa? Pampering includes a 50 minute Personalised Massage and 60 minute Skin Radiance Facial with a light lunch in the spa lounge and of course a glass of Laurent- Perrier. Oh and did we mention the Red Carpet Blow dry at Daniel Galvin making sure you look fabulous for any evening endeavours? 14th February

Covent Garden Hotel

Treat the special person in your life to a present from Tiffany’s…Breakfast at Tiffany’s that is. Covent Garden Hotel is screening the classic romantic comedy combined with a four course meal at their in house restaurant, Brasserie Max, accompanied by a glass of Laurent – Perrier Cuvée Rosé Champagne.14th February


It’s one of the most memorable kisses in a film… even if it is between two dogs and it is a cartoon – we are of course talking about the spaghetti kiss in Disney’s Lady and the Tramp. And this Valentine’s Day you can recreate the moment at Italian restaurant Dicicannove (whilst being serenaded by a ukele), with their Bella Notte menu which will include pork and beef meatballs with spaghetti as well as dishes such as grilled swordfish and porcini mushrooms! 14th February

Intercontinental Park Lane

Why not make a whole weekend of Valentine’s with a trip to the Intercontinental Park Lane? Start off with a three course rustic Italian meal in the award-winning Theo Randall, before slipping upstairs for a luxurious overnight stay. In the morning have breakfast in the Cookbook Café which celebrates the very best of British ingredients. Also an absolute must is the couples massage or a treatment in the Steam Temple which is sure to rejuvenate the both of you before you head back into the city. 14th February

Launceston Place

Do you ever find that sometimes you go to a restaurant and you like the starter and the pudding, but the main course you aren’t so sure on? Or you really could do without the amuse bouche? Well over at Launceston Place one lucky couple have the chance to have a bespoke menu created for them based on their taste preferences by Head Chef Tim Allen. So you know you will love every mouthful. The expert staff are on hand to source special floral bouquets or vintage champagne for the evening. A truly unique experience. 14th February

Le Pont De La Tour

Set the mood for the perfect Valentine’s night with dinner at Le Pont De La Tour.  Look out across the twinkling lights of the Thames and Tower Bridge whilst indulging in luxurious courses such as ½ dozen oysters with a mignotte dressing, hand-dived scallops, aged fillet of beef to share and dark chocolate pave. Simple yet elegant. 14th February

Mansion Bar and Parlour

Over in Earl’s Court, Mansion Bar and Parlour are celebrating Valentine’s Day with a winning combination: food and music. Indulge in a sumptuous four course supper which is accompanied by a live jazz pianist! 14th February


Mayfair restaurant Sartoria are offering a romantic Italian menu starting with a glass of Prosecco and continuing with sumptuous dishes such as potato gnocci with artichokes and goat’s cheese, 10oz dry – aged sirloin steak with Swiss chard and capers and a trio of Willie’s Cacao desserts to share – and if you can squeeze in any more food… we know we can… Valentine petit fours to finish. 14th February

South Place Hotel

For the ultimate in Valentine’s bolthole then you have to experience  ‘For Your Eyes Only…’ at South Place Hotel. This decadent overnight stay begins with a bottle of Champagne, homemade sea-salt caramel truffles, and a James Bondage gift box waiting in your room. As the name suggests the box contains provocative and sensuous gifts to ensure a night of fun and intimacy. The weekend continues with a late check-out and a three-course brunch with bottomless Bloody Mary’s, Bellini’s or Prosecco in 3 South Place Bar & Grill – and believe us that is a great way to end your Valentine’s weekend. 14th February

St Pancras Renaissance Hotel

The 245 bedroom Kings Cross hotel has recently launched a completely new bathing experience perfect for a Valentine’s Day gift this year.  Harping back to the hotel’s opening in 1873 where having a servant draw a bath was an extravagance, the hotel wants to recreate the feeling of a bath being a treat.  To do this St Pancras have teamed up with exclusive French beauty brand Cinq Mondes to create a menu of five different baths all appealing to guests personal requirements.  Choose ‘Journey to India’ for relaxation, or ‘Journey to Africa’ for a more rejuvenating experience before retiring to The Chambers Club where a butler prepares a room with atmospheric scents and sounds specific to your journey.  Like no other experience in town this is definitely a treatment to give a go this Valentine’s day.

The Clapham Grand

If all this romance is making you feel a bit queasy then how about a night of laughs at Clapham Grand comedy night? Enjoy a three course meal and bottle of wine as comedians Pete Firman, Pat Monahan, Loretta Maine and Pete Jonas do their best to keep the chuckles coming. 14th February

The Goring

Quintessentially English hotel, The Goring are encouraging you to leave behind the hectic month of January, to forget the detox and just indulge in a little bit of luxury and romance. Between the 7th and 17th February guests will find a bottle of Champagne and Hans Sloane chocolates in their room, then in the morning lie in that little bit later or even have breakfast in bed as you’ll be treated to a late check out! 7th-17th February

The Orrery

You might not be in the city of love but it doesn’t mean you can’t have a little French cuisine, and we suggest going to Orrery.   Take in the views of the beautiful Marylebone Gardens, as well as your date,  and indulge in dishes such as Seared Orkney scallop, Jerusalem artichoke and apple and beef medallion, wild mushrooms and a truffle jus. 14th February

The Ritz

The Ritz are upping the glamour for Valentine’s Day with a dinner dance in the spectacular Ritz Restaurant, followed by a night’s accommodation in one of the Louis XVI styled guest rooms where you will find a  chilled bottle of Ritz Rosé Champagne to toast the occasion. The following morning awake swathed in comfort and don’t even think about getting up until you’ve at least had breakfast in bed and read the papers. 14th -15th February

The Savoy

Kaspars bar and grill are offering a special ‘His’n’Hers’ menu this Valentine’s. Starting off with Royal fruits de mer to share, the men are treated to foie gras mosaic followed by rib eye steak. The ladies are have a lighter menu of Parma ham, truffle brie croquette and grilled dover sole. Our advice? It’s only fair to share, so mix and match between you two! 14th February

The Sign of the Don

Serving up British food with a Portuguese and Spanish twist as a nod to its heritage – The Sign of the Don has a delicious Valentine’s Day menu from the queen olive and goats curd crunch to the wild mushroom ravioli, piemontese truffle and pecorino and what better to end with than a chocolate fondue? We can’t say that we will be fair with our sharing though… come on it is chocolate! 14th February

The Tattershall Castle

With twinkling views of Big Ben and the London Eye, the Tattershall Castle has to be up there as one of the ultimate venues in romantic dining this Valentine’s Day, and if you didn’t know the Tattershall Castle is London’s floating bar! 14th February


They do say the way to the heart is through the stomach, so it only seems fitting on Valentine’s Day that you indulge in a little good food and where better than Tompkins? Starting with a glass of Champagne on arrival the menu includes highlights such as queen scallop ceviche, pan fried sole, duck or lamb and to follow a white and dark chocolate mousse. All diners will also have complimentary entrance to Attic the bar on the 48th floor of the Pan Peninsula building – get in the cocktails and listen to the band play love songs! 14th February
