Coining itself London’s newest ‘secret’ bar, The Leaf & Cane is the May opening from Crowne Plaza London The City that sure is good at keeping things under wraps. However, us Handbookers have been doing a little digging surrounding this alluring new opening, never one’s to let something slip under our radar, and we’ve found out a thing or two…
So, for starters, what the heck is The Leaf & Cane and why is it the bar on everyone’s lips? Well, it’s prohibition-y and speakeasy-y and hidden in a basement which makes it instantly cool. We also know it’s Latin American themed, set to replica down town Havana, sealed shut and mothballed! And, even though we’re hoping there aren’t any mothballs hanging about as us hayfever sufferers would have a right old time, we are intrigued by the subterranean rum cellar vibes that evoke images of a Tarzan-esque jungle with the chirpings and rustlings of insects filling the room.
The mysterious hideout urges guests to discover the larger-than-life era that gave us cigars, rums and good vibrations with all of the latter available in abundance at the venue! Expect fine cigars and premium rums and the guarantee that you’ll have a cocktail-in-hand for the duration of the evening. Food and drink unite epically in the space that balances Art Deco Batista era elegance, and Latin American rhythm.
Leaving little else to say – because we literally know very little else – than go and check it out for yourselves!
The Leaf & Cane can be found at 19 New Bridge Street, EC4V 6DB. Get ahead of the game and reserve your spot here
