You’d be few and far between trying to pinpoint someone who wouldn’t jump at a stay in private residences of any kind, especially if Four Seasons were the ones doing the offering! Which is why I travelled, Godspeed, on a Friday afternoon to experience the five-star luxury, of Four Seasons Private Residences at Ten Trinity Square, family in tow. As an iconic-landmark dream above the clouds, the Ten Trinity Square residences, snug in the heart of The City, bathe you in London views from the off, with the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Cheesegrater and more standing epically on the step of your huge wraparound private terrace.
It’s a real feast for the eyes and best enjoyed with a Beach Bellini in hand from the extensive cocktail menu. We were staying in the four-bedroom residence; an interior dream that puts a smile on the kiddies faces, as well as the adults. Here’s why we’re highly recommend this epic hotel…
Ten Trinity Square itself is a renowned London landmark, residing next to the City. First populated by the Romans 2,000 years ago, it sat as a place where ships would come and go easily on the tidal flow of the Thames. Going along with four excitable children, and an equally as excitable husband, we found ourselves submerged in the open-concept living and dining area which came with fully-equipped kitchen and a very child-friendly atmosphere. The 3,800 square foot residences are simply stunning across all levels and make for a real embarkation from the norm, swaddling you in a cotton wool world of luxe a far cry from the tube clangings and hustle and bustle of London streets.
Each room is equipped with a double bed, en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe, and then comes the utterly glamorous master bedroom bathed in decadent embellishments such as extensive marble flooring, ‘his’ and ‘hers’ basins and a whole host of attention to detail.
There are a heart throbbing amount of amenities on offer, for grown-ups all the way down to the kiddos. The Residences were fully set up with a cot for our baby, a play area for the children, a gorgeous fairy-tale, Cinderella-esque tent for them to enjoy and the balcony was child proof too – highlighting the noteworthy attention to detail. Upon entry, each child was gifted with a little basket of goodies which featured teddy bears, baby products and more, all of which put grins on small faces!
The Residences are ideal for work, rest and play simply ooze glamour and comfort with seriously impressive, home-away-from-home interiors by the hands of design aficionados Martin Kemp, David Linley, Richmond International and Fox Linton. Overall, the design exudes 21st century excellence yet housed in such grandeur you can still sense that the soul of the site’s 2000-year history still remains.
What makes the Residencies so idyllic is the family-friendly mentality at the helm. For the amount you get included it works out at incredible value for money and the ability for families to make use of a long-term rental means it’s ideal for long city stays in your own cosy paradise.
The Food (And Drink… Of Course)
Despite there being three dining outlets available at Four Seasons Ten Trinity Square, including Anne-Sophie Pic’s Michelin-starred signature French cuisine, Mei Ume and Rotunda Lounge, we weren’t even tempted to leave – who would with a huge, cushion-y oasis with city views at your fingertips? The residence comes with a fully-served kitchen in which, if you’re up for putting on a show, can host a in-house chef who’ll rustle up a meal for one and all putting Michelin-starred flavours onto your palette. Other perks include boozy, personalised wine-tastings with award-winning Wine Director, Jan Konetzki – sounds grape! We delved into the room menu and ordered sea bass; yet another perk of the room being the flavourful, creative dishes on offer. Additionally, the bountiful Express menu, served up from 11:00am until 11:00pm, is delivered straight to your door within 15 minutes from ordering – now that’s my definition of fast food!
Plus, if you’re opting for the express menu then you’ll choose from highlights of grilled halloumi cheese and superfood salad; a fry cry from the room service norm! You can also select from an international breakfast offering, from Chinese, Japanese, Continental or, for a blast of healthy, the wellness breakfast.
And, talk about thinking of everything, there’s even a paw-fest doggy menu featuring mains of organic chicken breast and traditional cooked ham and side dishes, so the pampered pooch won’t go hungry! However, if you’re opting to grab a bit of romantic time then tailor all services to families and are able to arrange for a nanny. Champers and candlelight? Sorted.
Anyone staying at the Hotel Suites and Residences will have access to the Ten Trinity Square Private Member’s Club, which represents a unique partnership between Reignwood Group, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Château Latour. It’s a place to spark conversations and that comes equipped with the image of someone sitting, red wine in hand, upon a leather stool intently reading a Hercule Poirot classic.
The club oozes old school glamour and really is a bolthole that sits far away from the madding crowd. The Ten Trinity Square club allows for leaders and key-thinkers from diverse industries to meet to share ideas and nurture relationships. You’ll find a cigar lounge which truly accentuates London’s standing as a capital of the cigar world. As well as a grand array of Château Latour wines, who’ve lended their name away from the vineyards to Ten Trinity Square.
Whilst It feels like the Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square has been around for ever, with its Michelin Starred restaurant and historic setting. In fact, it’s only just over a year old and boasts a brand new spa that should definitely be on your to-do list. Afternoon tea at Rotunda should definitely be preceded, or followed, by a trip here and I urge you to make the most of the swimming pool, vitality pool, steam room and sauna.
There’s so much on offer to help you destress after a busy day; and whilst we’d already done our fair share of de-stressing, cocktails in hand overlooking the lights of London, I couldn’t help but cast my eye over the bountiful offerings. Highlights include facials, body treatments and packages and Hammam, a traditional Moroccan ritual, that’s available for yourself or, if you can drag the other half along, two!
All things considered, our mesmerising stay at Ten Trinity Square was such a rare gem to find set amongst the concrete jungle of London. It takes a lot to transport the mind to sunnier, more relaxing climes but this venue did just that.
