House of Ho Rock’n’Roll Brunch

Situated in the heart of Soho is House of Ho, a modern Vietnamese restaurant, that has recently launched 'Bobby's Rock 'n' Roll Brunch' thusly named after head-chef Bobby Chinn.

The brunch kicks off in rock’n’roll style with a Lychee Bellini and edamame beans and crackers for the table. Guests are invited to choose from the £29 or £36 (per person) option, the latter offers extra dishes like the Shaking Beef, which was comparable to grilled peppery chunks of steak and was delicious. The £36 menu also includes dessert and cocktails like the Yum Rum Dragon, a tropically decorated concoction of berries, pomelo, passionfruit and rum, as an extra to the unlimited Prosecco, white and red wine available on both menus.

The brunch is divided into typical menu sections like sharing plates, mains, sides and desserts, the sharing plates are akin to starters and customers can choose as many small sharing plates as they like which include Fresh Summer Rolls and Chili Chicken Glazed Wings which are a must.

Customers then get to pick a main each; the Vegetable Curry has a thai twist on it with fresh flavours and a light, creamy coconut milk sauce which is divine. Other mains include Lemongrass Chicken and Lobster Cellophane Noodles amongst others. The Morning Glory, spinach cooked in onion and garlic, makes for a great side dish. If you choose the £36 you can also decide between Ice Cream or a fantastic Crème Brulee for dessert.

The interior at House of Ho is aiming for the shabby, chic decor but comes off across a little doom and gloom especially towards the back end of the restaurant. The service was at times a little scatty but the waiting staff themselves were mostly helpful.
