The Handbook
The Handbook

Tucked away in the residential area of Chelsea, a short walk from Sloane Square station is myhotel Chelsea, one of the three in the myhotel group alongside the Bloomsbury and Brighton venues. The Chelsea venue has been in the press recently due to the launch of Tanya’s Raw Food Café earlier this month, which is focussed on serving living cuisine through cutting edge techniques.

The hotel itself has also undergone a refurbishment with a very modern but cosy feel to it and The Handbook went to see for itself. There are 45 rooms in the hotel including a very special ‘adult room’ which is a collaboration between the hotel and luxury brand, 210th. The room immediately stands out from the others which are decorated in light, dusky colours as it has an entirely different look and feel to it. You are welcomed by a large erotic photo above the sofa where a fur throw has been placed, the room also features a lot of black and silver and is located away from the majority of the hotel perfect for those guests who wish to make a lot of noise. A special ‘Beloved Package’ can also be obtained, created by 210th it features a range of adult toys from creams, to blindfolds, to other adult items we are too modest to mention.

Incidentally when we stayed we were in the less saucy Superior Suite without the adult box before you get carried away. We may not have had ‘pleasure balls’ to entertain ourselves with but we did have the most ginormous bed I have ever seen that could have easily slept a football team and their mascot, free WIFI throughout the hotel and a huge flat screen TV with movie service. The bathroom was modern and clean and instead of the usual drab toiletries, was filled with Anyah eco-friendly toiletries – only complaint is that the shower could have been more powerful.

The peaceful hotel also hosts a family run Sardinian restaurant on the ground level called Pellicano, which serves classic Italian cuisine with a terrace that overlooks the street. Both Pellicano and Tanya’s welcome non-guests to delight in their exciting menus.

Due to the location, myhotel Chelsea makes for a great place to relax after a day spent pounding the pavements in the city, and is perfect for visitors who want to avoid the tourist trap of more central hotels whilst still getting to experience one of London’s most sought after areas.
