The Handbook
The Handbook

If you’ve done your absolute worst to yourself throughout Christmas in terms of over-indulging, especially in regards to alcohol, then the idea of more boozy nights out may prove too much. This doesn’t mean that you have to spend the next few weeks home alone as a new ping pong bar has cropped up in Westfield. The year-long pop up covers 2 floors with the top (the Games Hall) holding 12 tables to obliterate your partner plus a bar to quench your thirst – ping pong is not for the faint hearted after all.
2N5A4243Although there’s a bar, there is also quite an informal family vibe about the venue too which wouldn’t make children feel out of place nor adults feel as though it’s too childish. Food is also available both upstairs in the small dining area or downstairs in the main dining area with options like pizza, a selection of small bites like wraps and wedges plus sharing platters that even include healthy options of crudities and hummus. Healthy options actually sneak quite well on to the menu with salads and smaller bites in abundance; this makes a refreshing change from chips and burgers that you may expect to find. That being said, the Vegetariana pizza was one of the best vegetarian pizzas I’ve had, topped with butternut squash, goats cheese, rosemary, rocket and pumpkin seeds.
Untitled-1If you only want something light then grab a bucket of wings with either BBQ sauce or spicy – be warned that they are truly spicy though but luckily the blue cheese dip goes some way to dull the burning. Sweets on the menu include a brownie and a variety of ice cream sundaes.
2N5A4109The Bat and Ball makes for a fun outing for people of all ages which also provide a good place to top up the energy levels with quality food and a variety of beverages including the alcoholic type for later in the evening. If you’re feeling performance shy then there is a private ping pong area available for private hire which can cater up to 40 people.
