If you’re always on the lookout for a new restaurant, you’re in luck as February brings with it a whole host of exciting new launches. From a brand new Lebanese restaurant making its way to Harrods to Blacklock’s expansion to Covent Garden, there’s a lot to eat, taste and look forward to. Read on to find out the best new openings arriving this month. 

Em Sherif

We reported on this opening last month but an official opening date has been set! Opening its doors in Harrods on 1st February, Em Sherif is a new Lebanese restaurant led by Chef Mirelle Hayek. This will be the first European debut from the rising restaurant group known for its twelve restaurants spread across the Middle Eastern region, and is set to feature a restaurant and deli space.

The menu is set to feature freshly made dishes, including the signature Fattoush salad with pomegranate molasses; wagyu hummus; and Em Ali, a vanilla-infused milk with nuts and puff pastry.

Silverleaf

Pan Pacific London will be welcoming a new bar to its repertoire this month, offering a full sensory experience with views over Bishopsgate Plaza. One of the first independent cocktail bars to be part of a luxury hotel offering, Silverleaf will be home to some of the finest spirits from across the world and striking hand chipped grey marble. 

For cocktails, expect them to take inspiration from ‘naturalism’ and champion two or three core ingredients. Each drink will have a minimalist presentation with a touch of vibrant colour and edible garnishes.

Lahpet West End

Lahpet, the popular Burmese restaurant in Shoreditch from Dan Anton and Zaw Mahesh, is expanding, bringing dishes inspired by the street food in Myanmar to Covent Garden.

The new restaurant, opening 23rd February, will combine seasonal British produce with native ingredients. There’ll be Laphet favourites, as well as new dishes including the likes of Roasted pork belly and bamboo shoots; Shan Fish and Rice, a popular Shan state street food dish; and Rakhine fish noodle soup.

This February will see the famed chophouse open up its fourth restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden.

Blacklock Covent Garden

London is bursting with restaurants serving roast dinners but the restaurant at the top of every Londoners list? Blacklock. This February will see the famed chophouse open up its fourth restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden.

Renowned for their high quality and dry-aged meats, the restaurant will be keeping sustainability at the forefront of the new venue’s ethos, focusing on lesser known cuts of meats and a pip-to-peel approach. They’ll be working with Cornish farmer and butcher, Philip Warren to ensure the quality is excellent and to cut down on waste by using the whole animal across a variety of dishes. And yes, you can expect their award-winning Sunday roasts to be back with a bang – yay.

Cedric Grolet at The Berkeley

Knightbridge’s The Berkeley will be adding another addition to its ever-growing roster of foodie offerings, with the arrival of a new patisserie from one of the world’s best pastry chefs, Cedric Grolet. Opening in February, this will be Cedric’s first patisserie outside of France, and he’s excited to bring his artistry and creations across the Channel. 

Cedric Grolet at The Berkeley will see two iconic patisserie signatures brought together for the first time – Grolet’s famous Fruit creations, and his exquisite Flowers. Creating quite the impression on Instagram, Grolet is famed for his culinary ‘trompe-l’œil’ where pâtisserie genius is used to create optical illusions. Visitors will be able to enjoy Grolet’s creations at The Berkeley Cafe or take them away to devour at home.

Itaku

Itaku is a brand new restaurant from the founder of Cannes pop-up Cosy Box, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini and chef Ivan Simeoli. Arriving on Great Portland Street this month, the restaurant will specialise in serving Italian cuisine, while mixing in Japanese flavours and techniques.

A unique mix of the two countries and their cuisines, expect dishes such as soya milk poached pork belly with baked Umbrian beans; miso Cornish monkfish with flamed pumpkin and Tusan black cabbage; and Sicilian red prawns with black truffle ponzu and shiso. There’ll also be staples such as truffle carbonara and seafood linguine, or sashimi and vegetables from the ‘raw bar’.

Dear Grace 

Small plates and cocktails. What more could you ask for? Introducing Dear Grace, the new neighbourhood bar and eatery from the team behind Pergola and The Prince.

Opening early February, this new venue is set to become the new go-to place for cocktail catch ups and after work dos. Right now they’ve only released renders but it looks as Instagrammable as it gets. Expect hanging plants, cosy sofas and big windows that look out over the local space.

There’ll be a whole host of cocktails, from kiwi margaritas to kumquat sours, springtime negronis to mocha martinis. For food, you’ll be able to enjoy sharing plates of gambas pil pil; jerba olives; ezme burrata; and crispy corn with rock salt and chilli.
