When the weather is sweltering and the city streets are crowded, there’s only one thing that will cool you down and it’s a big ol’ scoop of ice cream. With the summer finally here, the arrival of Anita Gelato couldn’t be better timed. 

Open since last month, Anita Gelato is a world-famous boutique ice cream shop that houses stores all over the globe, from Tel Aviv to New York. Its first UK branch has finally opened its doors, bringing with it its 150 famous flavours of gelato, frozen yoghurt, sorbets and sugar-free, vegan-based gelato.

Starting life in a small Mediterranean kitchen back in 1998, where ‘Mamma’ Anita Avitall and her youngest son, Nir served their handmade gelato to local friends and neighbours. Little did they know that their local authenticity and delicious flavours would be tasted and cherished globally in a matter of years. Since their humble beginnings 23 years ago, the family-run business first opened in 2002, and their fresh gelato can now be enjoyed in their locations around the world, from Sydney to Limassol, Tel Aviv to Barcelona, and of course New York and now London. 

Made fresh in store every day, their ice creams are made with quality ingredients from the Anita Gelato Factory. Expect a wide range of delicious flavours, including chocolate blondi with almonds; peanut butter and chocolate; salted bagel; mascarpone ricotta; pavlova; crumble cheesecake with mixed berries; and tiramisu and hazelnut mousse.

There are plenty of household chocolate names too, including Hershey’s, Snickers and Raffaelo. Vegans look forward to a wide range of flavours as well, from soy oreo cookies and limoncello to grapefruit campari and coconut sorbet.
