Who doesn’t love dinosaurs? The enigmatic creatures that inhabited our world millions of years ago have been an object of fascination for people of all ages for as long as we’ve known about them- and inspired the massively successful Jurassic franchise. The latest entry into the film series, Jurassic World: Dominion, premiered a few weeks ago and wraps up the stories of characters both from the newer and older 90s films, and now to celebrate it a huge Jurassic Park exhibition is coming to London.

Jurassic World: The Exhibition is arriving in the city later this year on 25th August, and promises to be a huge immersive experience for fans of the films and those that just like looking at big reptiles. It opens at the ExCel Arena on the Royal Victoria Docks, accessible via the recently opened Elizabeth Line, and comes from Universal Studios and Amblin Entertainment, the production company founded by the original Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg.

The whole exhibition will take up 20,000 sq ft, meaning there’s a lot of space for you to wander around in, and take in loads of models of dinos from inspired by both real life and the films. The iconic park (or world depending on the film) gates will form the entrance, and a T-Rex, Velociraptors, Brachiosaurus and more can be found dwelling within.

You can even have a look at and interact with some baby dinosaurs if the bigger ones are too intimidating. You’ll also find some creatures that are trapped in amber from the Hammond Lab, and there’s park staff around the exhibition to help you get to know your new pre-histroic pals. The show has already found success in parts of the US, Asia and Europe, and Michael Sliver, President of Global Business Development at Universal said of the London opening “What excites us about Jurassic World: The Exhibition is the opportunity to give fans a real-world, immersive experience based on the amazing adventures of the films and delivered to a location near them. Visitors will come face-to-face with life-sized dinosaurs and walk through richly themed environments, all inspired by the beloved global franchise”

In short, if you’ve just seen Jurassic World Dominion or you just want to see some big dinosaurs up close (and have already been to the Natural History Museum too many times), then Jurassic World: The Exhibition is for you. Pre booking for tickets will launch today at 12 pm on the exhibition’s website.
