The Weekend Edit: 28 Denim Pieces You Didn’t Know You Needed

If there’s a wardrobe staple that best supports our weekend sartorial choices, it’s got to be denim.  Take a look at some of the best new denim pieces around right now and we’re not just talking regular jeans. This season, there’s plenty of elevated denim to take the off-duty hero up a notch, from pie-crust blouses to vintage-style skirts and jackets that will see you right through to summer.

As we approach spring (optimistic), it’s a great time to invest in some new denim pieces that can be worn now layered under knits and cocooning coats and then really come into their own when the weather brightens up. Vintage shapes and details are the key to taking something as mundane as denim and making it really special. Case in point, Brit brand Rixo and their current collection that nods more than just a little to the late ’60s/early ’70s. Think ruffle-collared jackets with retro wooden buttons and the prairie-style tired Sara midi dress.

Reiss has redone one of their classic jumpsuits in flared denim too – a statement piece that will transcend many a season. While Mango’s denim shirt dress is tailored to perfection meaning it just about bridges the gap between off-duty and office.

BA&SH's Edson Jacket

The cut and shape of a denim jacket is imperative to the vibe it gives off, and BA&SH’s Edson style has ‘French fashion editor’ written all over it. Ticking all the right boxes, from oversized shape to waist-cinching belt tie, it will toughen a white tee and high-waisted jeans instantly. Pushed up sleeves and popped collar, essential.
